KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — Anwar Ibrahim has warned that PKR leaders will not receive automatic candidacy for the next general election (GE16).
Stressing that positions alone do not guarantee selection. Speaking at the Johor Keadilan Convention 2026, he said only those who demonstrate strong grassroots support.
Commitment and winnability will be considered. Anwar urged party divisions to intensify groundwork efforts and avoid complacency after forming the government.
He emphasised that performance at the division level—not titles—will determine candidacy. Highlighting the importance of discipline and unity.
He reminded members that PKR was built on struggle and must continue earning public trust through consistent engagement and proven capability on the ground.
