JOHOR BAHRU, April 6 – A fiery exchange broke out between R. Ramanan and Hassan Karim during the Johor PKR convention, forcing organisers to halt the live broadcast and usher media out.
The confrontation began when Ramanan criticised party members he claimed were attacking PKR, in remarks widely seen as directed at Rafizi Ramli.
Hassan interrupted the speech, objecting to targeting individuals who were not present to respond, triggering a tense back-and-forth between both leaders.
The situation escalated as they spoke over each other, highlighting deepening divisions within the party.
Despite the disruption, Ramanan later reiterated calls for unity and support for party leadership, including Anwar Ibrahim.
The incident underscores ongoing internal strains within PKR as it faces mounting political and economic challenges.
