GEORGE TOWN, April 6 – Penang FC and Sabah FC played out a dramatic 1-1 draw in Match No. 13 (F-1) of the MFL Challenge Cup 2025/2026 on April 4, in front of 8,984 spectators.
Penang took the lead in the 71st minute through their No. 7, putting the home side in control heading into the final stages of the match.
However, Sabah snatched a crucial equaliser deep into stoppage time when their No. 4 converted a penalty in the 90+6 minute.
The late goal denied Penang a victory and ensured both sides shared the points in a tightly contested encounter. The result keeps the tie finely balanced as both teams look ahead to the next stage of the competition.
