IPOH, April 6 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government is exploring measures, including potential reductions in taxes and tariffs, to help businesses cope with the ongoing global energy crisis.
He stressed that the immediate priority remains ensuring a stable supply of essential goods and maintaining price controls to protect consumers amid rising global fuel costs.
Speaking after officiating the Perak Madani Rakyat Programme 2026, Anwar said the government is also studying additional relief options such as deferring e-invoicing requirements.
He noted that all proposals are under review to ease financial pressure on both traders and the public. While discussions on a possible stimulus package continue.
He emphasised that any action will be carefully considered to balance economic stability and long-term sustainability.
