GEORGE TOWN, April 7 — The first 2026 meeting of the Penang State Anti-Drug Action Council (MTMD) brought together multiple agencies to coordinate strategies against drug abuse.

Chaired by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and attended by National Anti-Drug Agency Director Dato’ Ruslin Jusoh, the meeting emphasised integrated approaches.

Across prevention, enforcement, treatment, rehabilitation, and community engagement. Key initiatives include expanding the TEKAD workplace program to all government departments.

And reinforcing the youth-led e-Skuad digital platform. With 13,655 drug users recorded in 2025, mostly males aged 15–39.

The council underscored stronger inter-agency collaboration to combat methamphetamine abuse and advance Penang’s vision for a drug-controlled, healthy, and productive society.
