JOHOR BAHRU, April 9 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) intercepted a suspicious lorry near the Pasir Gudang Highway yesterday, uncovering 800 litres of illicit diesel valued at RM20,716.
The lorry had been modified with dual pump units linking the vehicle’s tank to an extra Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) used for illegal fuel storage.
Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo confirmed the driver, in his 40s, lacked valid permits for purchasing or storing diesel.
A statement was recorded, and the case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
