GEORGE TOWN, April 12 — The state must address the practical need to house foreign workers as Penang continues to attract investments and generate employment opportunities.
Chow said the presence of foreign workers is essential in supporting key industries, and providing proper accommodation remains a challenge that must be managed responsibly.
Chow said he spent about one and a half hours listening to feedback from residents during an engagement session earlier today in Juru on the 32-storey project.
The session was also attended by a consultant conducting a social impact assessment, who will take into account the views, criticisms, and suggestions from residents and stakeholders before further decisions are made, he said at Penang DAP’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house.
