KULAI, April 13 — UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan has said he will propose the postponement of the Johor and Melaka state elections.
Citing ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia and current economic pressures. He said the matter will be brought to the UMNO Supreme Council meeting this Friday in Melaka.
Stressing that elections should only be held when conditions are stable and the public burden is eased. Ahmad, who is also Deputy Works Minister, noted that combining both state elections could also help reduce costs.
He added that delaying the polls would allow for a more stable and appropriate political environment.
