KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh has defended the “Bangun KL” campaign.

Stressing that it is a private sector initiative by Zus Coffee Group and does not involve government spending.

She said the programme should be viewed as a collaborative effort to improve urban mobility and public engagement.

Yeoh said it is “better than doing nothing,” adding that multiple approaches are needed to address Kuala Lumpur’s traffic issues.

The campaign offers early-morning coffee discounts to encourage commuters to travel earlier, with the government welcoming private initiatives that contribute to easing congestion and improving city life.
