ALOR SETAR, April 18 — Kedah PKR has defended the federal government’s diplomatic approach, arguing that modern geopolitics demands faster and more direct leader-to-leader communication.
Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said criticisms raised in the Kedah State Assembly overlooked the realities of a rapidly evolving global environment.
He cited Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s phone diplomacy, including direct engagement with foreign leaders, as an example of “agile statecraft” that enables quicker responses to international crises.
He added that such communication reflects Malaysia’s broader diplomatic strategy, which prioritises national interest and timely coordination in global affairs.
