KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 — Kaspersky reported an 86% rise in gaming-related cyberthreats across Southeast Asia in the second half of 2025.

Targeting titles like Roblox, Minecraft, and Genshin Impact. Malaysia mirrored the trend with a 21% increase, while Vietnam and Thailand saw the steepest spikes at 202.5% and 104.4%, respectively.

Kaspersky warns these attacks, often disguised as cheats or in-game rewards, threaten young gamers and their households by compromising personal and financial data.

The company urges families to adopt robust cybersecurity practices, including trusted apps, parental controls, and early education on safe digital habits.
