KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said a request to maintain the 300-litre RON95 fuel quota for media practitioners, will be brought to the upcoming National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting on Tuesday.
The appeal, submitted by the Gabungan Kelab Media Malaysia, follows complaints that the reduced 200-litre monthly limit under the BUDI95 scheme is affecting journalists who travel extensively for assignments.
Fahmi said feedback will be provided after deliberation, while acknowledging the operational challenges faced by media workers nationwide.
He also announced that upcoming government briefings on the global energy crisis will adopt a hybrid format, allowing journalists to attend physically or virtually, improving access while easing logistical and cost burdens.
