PETALING JAYA, April 20 – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and telecommunications providers have been given one month to resolve internet connectivity issues.

Along the KL Sentral–Segamat Electric Train Service (ETS) route. Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the move follows real-time speed tests conducted during his journey.

Highlighting gaps in 4G and 5G coverage. He emphasised a new guiding principle — “where there is a track, there is internet” — to ensure seamless connectivity for commuters.

Fahmi added that a broader effort is underway to improve coverage across the entire 1,700km KTMB network.

A workshop involving MCMC, KTMB, the Railway Assets Corporation, and six major telcos will be held to identify blind spots and implement both immediate and long-term solutions.

Aiming to enhance travel experience and digital accessibility nationwide.
