KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 — Apple has introduced Tap to Pay on iPhone in Malaysia, allowing businesses to accept contactless payments directly using their iPhones without additional hardware.

The feature enables merchants to process payments from credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets via NFC technology on iPhone 11 or later.

This innovation is designed to support businesses of all sizes, from small vendors to large retailers, with a seamless and secure payment experience.

The service is launched in collaboration with payment platforms including ADAPTIS, Fiuu, HitPay, Stripe, and Zoho, with further expansion planned.

Supporting major networks such as Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay, the system ensures encrypted transactions using Secure Element technology.

Apple emphasised privacy, noting it does not store transaction data, reinforcing trust for both merchants and customers.
