PETALING JAYA, April 22 — Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari has warned that costs across multiple sectors could rise by 15 to 25 per cent around September or October this year due to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
He said the full impact has yet to be felt despite earlier increases in fuel prices and supply chain disruptions.
Amirudin said the projection, based on an international bank forecast, could affect sectors including healthcare, construction and food supply.
With Selangor expected to be among the most impacted states. He added that rising operational costs linked to fuel and shortages require early mitigation planning.
As the state government continues to monitor global developments closely and implement measures to manage inflation and protect public welfare.
