ALOR GAJAH, April 24 — The Ministry of Education will introduce Chinese and Tamil language learning for students under the Special Education Integration Programme (PPKI) in SJKC and SJKT schools.
Starting next year, as part of the new 2027 national curriculum. Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh said the move aims to strengthen character development, literacy.
And numeracy while equipping students with essential mother tongue skills. He noted that PPKI students showing strong progress may transition into mainstream classes.
Making language proficiency crucial. Speaking at a national SJKT principals’ symposium, Wong also announced that 140 SJKT schools will receive smart TVs this year.
