Since its debut, IKEA introduced concepts such as flat-pack furniture and Scandinavian-inspired living, quickly becoming part of local households.
Iconic products like the BILLY bookcase, POÄNG chair, KLIPPAN sofa and KALLAX shelving unit have become staples, adapting to evolving lifestyles from compact urban homes to growing family spaces.
Country Retail Director Malcolm Pruys said the milestone reflects a shared journey with customers, communities and co-workers who helped build the brand’s presence.
To celebrate, IKEA Malaysia will host activities from April to August, including in-store events, collaborations, promotions and community initiatives.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to making well-designed, practical home furnishing accessible, continuing its mission inspired by founder Ingvar Kamprad to create a better everyday life for the many.
