PUTRAJAYA, April 24 — The government has clarified that Malaysia is not the origin of a reported 200 million-litre diesel shipment bound for Australia.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the fuel is part of a commercial arrangement involving BP, which operates storage facilities in Malaysian waters.
He explained that although the vessel departs from Malaysia, the diesel itself is not locally sourced. The clarification follows remarks by Anthony Albanese on additional fuel supplies.
Which include cargoes from South Korea and Brunei. Authorities confirmed the confusion stemmed from international trading logistics rather than Malaysian exports.
