KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 – Amcor has launched a new advanced healthcare packaging coating facility in Subang Jaya, Selangor, backed by a US$35 million investment.
The plant introduces air-knife coating technology for sterile medical packaging, strengthening Malaysia’s role as a regional hub for healthcare manufacturing.
Supported by Malaysian Investment Development Authority, the move enhances local supply chain resilience and aligns with national industrial goals.
The facility expands Amcor’s operations into a fully integrated site, enabling faster production, improved reliability, and closer collaboration with regional healthcare clients.
It also supports technology transfer and talent development through global expertise. Officials say the investment reflects growing confidence in Malaysia’s medical device sector.
Following RM152 million in approved investments in 2025, reinforcing the country’s appeal for high-value manufacturing.
