JOHOR BAHRU, April 25 — The government is considering restricting ministerial travel as part of urgent measures to reduce energy consumption amid a global supply crisis, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

He warned that swift action is needed to prevent Malaysia from facing energy rationing, noting that while oil supply remains stable until June, diesel shortages are beginning to emerge.

Anwar said the National Economic Action Council is meeting every two days to monitor the situation and will decide on further steps soon.

Measures under consideration include expanded work-from-home practices and operational adjustments across ministries.
