BATU KAWAN, April 26 — The Road Transport Department Malaysia marked its 80th anniversary with a strong push towards digital transformation, enhancing enforcement, service delivery and road safety advocacy.

The agency now handles about 57 million transactions annually, with over half conducted digitally via platforms like MyJPJ and MySikap, supported by 14.3 million users nationwide.

Advanced technologies such as AI-powered number plate recognition and body cameras are also being deployed to improve enforcement transparency and compliance.

In conjunction with the milestone, JPJ launched an upgraded MyJPJ app featuring integrated services, a 24-hour chatbot and MyDigital ID support.

National singer Siti Nurhaliza was also named Road Safety Icon to promote safer driving culture.
