SEREMBAN, April 27 — Barisan Nasional (BN) Negeri Sembilan has claimed it now holds a simple majority to form a new state government following support from five Perikatan Nasional (PN) assemblymen.
The bloc said the cooperation reflects a shared priority to ensure political stability amid the ongoing state leadership crisis.
In a statement, BN said it welcomed PN’s willingness to work together, adding that the interests of the people must take precedence over political differences.
With 14 BN assemblymen and five from PN, the coalition believes it has sufficient numbers to establish a stable administration.
BN also stressed its pragmatic and inclusive approach, noting that a united majority could provide a stronger direction for the state’s development while safeguarding traditional institutions.
The move comes after BN withdrew support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun earlier in the day, triggering uncertainty over the current government’s position.
