KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 — Nurul Izzah Anwar said the appointment of Abdul Halim Aman as head of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is both a test.
And an opportunity for institutional reform, stressing that integrity must be reflected in actions, not titles.
She warned that leadership change alone is insufficient, calling for structural reforms including a review of the MACC Act, stronger safeguards, and greater parliamentary accountability.
Nurul Izzah also urged public engagement, saying meaningful reform depends on sustained pressure to ensure transparency, independence, and accountability within the anti-graft body.
