PETALING JAYA, April 28 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said a snap election in Negeri Sembilan is unlikely despite the ongoing political uncertainty.
Following Barisan Nasional’s withdrawal of support for Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun. He stressed that any decision ultimately rests with Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir and the state legislative assembly.
Anwar said developments will be announced in due course, as discussions continue at both state and federal levels.
The situation intensified after 14 BN assemblymen pulled support, while Perikatan Nasional signalled willingness to form a new government with BN.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is expected to meet Anwar to discuss the crisis and coalition ties. Separately, Akmal Saleh opposed forming a “backdoor” government, urging either a fresh mandate or a principled opposition role.
