KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 — The National Union of Journalists Malaysia (National Union of Journalists Malaysia) and NUJM-Malaysiakini have expressed serious concern.

Over a police raid on the home of journalist B Nantha Kumar, reportedly linked to his reporting on a government foreign worker recruitment system.

In a statement, NUJM stressed that journalism is not a crime and warned that such actions could intimidate media practitioners and undermine press freedom.

The union urged authorities to provide full transparency on the legal basis of the raid and to ensure journalists are not targeted for carrying out legitimate public interest reporting.
