KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 – Anwar Ibrahim has announced a RM710 million Progressive Acceleration for Capability and Employment (PACE) package.
To strengthen Malaysia’s labour market and human capital development. The initiative, introduced during the 2026 National Workers’ Day celebration.
Aims to enhance workforce resilience through targeted programmes focused on upskilling, reskilling and job retention.
The package will be implemented via the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia and complements broader labour reforms.
It also includes plans to expand protection under the Social Security Organisation to Malaysians working abroad, particularly cross-border workers.
Benefiting over 480,000 commuters between Malaysia and Singapore.
