IPOH, May 1 — Saarani Mohamad said the state government is assessing whether a supplementary budget is needed following rising global uncertainties linked to West Asia tensions.
He noted that a comprehensive review is underway to ensure any decision addresses multiple issues, adding that Perak may convene a special sitting if additional spending becomes necessary.
Saarani also stressed the state’s commitment to safeguarding food security and supporting vulnerable groups under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan.
Meanwhile, A. Sivanesan revealed that Perak continues to face a shortage of medical officers, with a doctor-to-population ratio of 1:466, below the national average of 1:403.
He said over 100 positions remain vacant, particularly in specialist hospitals, and efforts are ongoing with the Health Ministry to increase staffing and improve healthcare delivery.
