KUALA TERENGGANU, May 4 — Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia has expanded its Rakan Muda initiative through a two-day state-level fiesta featuring 29 activities aimed at engaging rural youth.

Held at the Terengganu State Water Sports Complex, the carnival-style programme brought together young people, associations and local clubs to foster inclusivity and participation.

Terengganu Youth and Sports Department director Asmadi Mohamad said the event aligns with the programme’s ongoing rebranding, offering platforms for talent development across sports, creative and community activities.

Highlights included sailing, canoeing, e-sports and silat, alongside free community services such as haircuts and motorcycle maintenance, strengthening ties between youth, agencies and the wider community.
