BUTTERWORTH, May 4 — Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives rolled out the second Penang edition of its Jualan MADANI Koperasi dan Usahawan (JMKU) 2026 programme in Sungai Puyu.
Offering discounts of up to 30 per cent on more than 80 essential items. The initiative, held in collaboration with the Sungai Puyu state assemblyman’s office.
Aims to ease cost-of-living pressures while providing a platform for small businesses and cooperatives to market their products directly to consumers.
The programme was officiated by Steven Sim Chee Keong alongside Phee Syn Tze, with “Happy Hour” deals offering deeper discounts between 11am and noon.
Besides affordable groceries and fresh produce, the event also featured multiple government service counters and saw contributions under the Social Security Organisation scheme.
Including RM8,000 in support for 70 housewives under the SKSSR programme.
