KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia’s policy of “active non-alignment” enables the country to maintain strong ties.

With major powers while easing entry into global defence supply chains amid ongoing Middle East tensions.

Speaking at the Defence Services Asia and National Security Asia 2026 exhibition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, he noted that Malaysian firms can operate globally without political complications.

Anwar highlighted the strength of local industries, including aerospace manufacturing, and assured investors of strong intellectual property protection and trade controls.

He also cited positive economic indicators, including over US$2 billion in recent bond inflows, strong currency performance, and 5.2 per cent growth last year, reinforcing Malaysia’s resilience and attractiveness to global investors.
