SEPANG, May 6 — Malaysia’s new border system MyNIISe is expected to reduce passenger clearance time to just four to five seconds when fully implemented, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The system is set to be rolled out at entry points from September as part of efforts to modernise immigration services and strengthen national border security.
Saifuddin described MyNIISe as a “game changer”, replacing the 20-year-old system with advanced facial recognition, QR codes and passport verification to ease congestion at airports such as KLIA.
The RM1 billion upgrade aims to improve efficiency while enhancing security. The ministry also plans to expand recruitment of Malaysia Border Guards to support operations under the new system.
