CUPERTINO, May 8 — Tim Cook has reassured employees that he remains in good health and plans to stay with Apple “for a long time” as he transitions into the role of executive chairman.
Speaking during an internal meeting, Cook said his energy remains high and Apple will continue to be his top priority.
He added that he will support incoming CEO John Ternus by sharing his experience and assisting wherever needed.
Cook is set to step down as CEO on September 1, 2026, after nearly 15 years, handing leadership to Ternus while continuing to help guide the company’s global relationships and policy engagement.
He said the timing was right as Apple is performing strongly, its product lineup remains robust, and Ternus is ready to lead the next chapter.
