KEDAH, May 9 — Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir conducted a working visit to several strategic infrastructure projects in Kedah.
Focusing on water treatment plant upgrades and industrial development projects in the Northern Corridor. He stressed that development projects must directly benefit the people.
In line with the goals of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13). Among the projects reviewed were the Sungai Limau Water Treatment Plant in Baling and Bukit Selambau Water Treatment Plant in Kuala Muda.
Both facing delays despite Kedah recording a 0% water reserve margin for five consecutive years. The minister also visited the Phase 5 infrastructure development at Kulim Hi-Tech Park.
Expected to attract RM50 billion in investments and create 15,000 high-skilled jobs. He said the Northern Corridor must evolve into a stronger investment ecosystem amid global economic uncertainty.
