KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 – MG Motor Malaysia has officially launched the locally assembled MGS5 EV, marking a key milestone following its CKD line-off in Melaka.
Built on a rear-wheel-drive electric platform, the model delivers 151kW and 350Nm of torque, with a driving range of up to 446km (WLTP).
It also supports fast charging up to 150kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in about 26 minutes, while offering enhanced comfort features in the LUX Long Range variant.
The EV is assembled at the PEPS-JV facility with EP Manufacturing Berhad, supporting local industry growth.
Priced from RM116,900, the MGS5 EV includes an 8-year battery warranty and advanced safety systems. A launch promotion worth up to RM9,000 is offered, alongside nationwide test drive events.
