BAYAN LEPAS, May 11 — Penang is strengthening its position in experiential tourism with the emergence of Forest Island.
A new destination between the Penang Bridge and Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge. The site is being developed as a tourism corridor offering immersive sea-based recreational and lifestyle experiences.
Forest Island Founder Alvin Poh said the destination is introducing world-first concepts, including an open-sea pickleball court recognised by Asia Records.
Upcoming developments include an open-sea wedding venue and corporate team-building programmes.
Alongside family-focused experiences such as the MOYA parent-child retreat scheduled for May 2026.
The initiative has received support from tourism authorities and industry stakeholders, positioning Penang as a hub for innovation-driven tourism.
