BANGI, May 11 — Azalina Othman Said said Umno has no objection to the proposed Political Funding Bill, although the party’s official stance is still being finalised as discussions with political parties continue.
The Umno information chief said feedback from all parties is currently being gathered before a formal position is presented.
Speaking after launching the Madani Accountability Framework 2026 town hall session, Azalina said consensus among political parties is important as they will be the main users of the proposed law.
She previously noted that the Political Funding Act remains under study and requires broad agreement before it can be implemented.
