KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — The Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) has announced the return of the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Media KPKT (AKeMEDIA) 2026.
Recognising outstanding journalism across housing, local governance and urban development. Organised with support from Malaysian Press Institute.
The awards feature eight categories covering print, broadcast, online media, photography and social content, with top prizes reaching RM10,000.
Open to Malaysian media practitioners, submissions must be published between September 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026, with no entry fee or limit.
The awards aim to highlight impactful reporting on key sectors including smart cities, waste management and public services.
Entries close on August 5, 2026, as KPKT continues efforts to recognise media contributions to national development.
