KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — Several environmental groups, including Sahabat Alam Malaysia and Greenpeace Malaysia.
Have urged the Perak State Government to comply with the National Land Council’s 79th ruling, which imposed a moratorium on new forest plantation projects in permanent forest reserves.
They called for the cancellation of two proposed projects in Hutan Simpan Kledang Saiong, citing biodiversity concerns.
And environmental risks highlighted in audit reports, arguing such developments undermine conservation efforts.
