KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 — The Ministry of Finance announced a reduction in retail fuel prices for the period of May 14 to 20, 2026.
Following lower international market prices under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM). RON97 will decrease by 20 sen to RM4.70 per litre.
Unsubsidised RON95 will drop 15 sen to RM3.87 per litre, while diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will fall 30 sen to RM4.87 per litre.
Despite the adjustment, the government said global fuel prices remain elevated due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
With crude oil prices hovering around US$100 per barrel compared to US$60–70 before the conflict. Increased logistics and insurance costs.
As well as risks of disruption along the Strait of Hormuz, continue to pressure global supply. Subsidised fuel prices remain unchanged.
Including BUDI95 at RM1.99 per litre and subsidised diesel at RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
