GEORGE TOWN, May 13 — The Penang government, through Penang Global Tourism (PGT), is rolling out new tourism products and attractions ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
State tourism and creative economy exco Wong Hon Wai said the initiatives focus on interactive heritage, cultural and nature-based experiences.
New attractions include the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, Ferringhi Bay, Penang Ferry Museum, Penang River Cruise, Entopia by Night, Forest Island and the Guar Kepar Archaeological Gallery.
Wong also said Penang is open to hosting music rave festivals if supported by suitable venues, sponsors and budgets.
He cited the 2024 Run Rev Carnival in Batu Kawan as a successful example combining sports and entertainment.
PGT is also intensifying domestic and international promotions through digital campaigns, tourism fairs and collaborations.
With airlines, online travel agencies and media partners in markets such as China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and India.
