KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 – The Secretariat of #TangkapAzamBaki has urged authorities to reveal the outcome of police investigations into alleged provocateurs who set off firecrackers during the peaceful rally in Kuala Lumpur on April 26.
The group said the incident endangered participants and appeared aimed at diverting attention from public demands for integrity and anti-corruption reforms.
The secretariat stressed that the end of Azam Baki’s tenure as MACC chief does not resolve broader institutional issues.
It called for comprehensive reforms to ensure the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission operates independently.
Alongside the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry into alleged corporate mafia activities and stronger protection for the public’s right to assemble peacefully.
