KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 – Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has not given any indication that the 16th General Election (GE16) will be held this year.
He stressed that the government remains focused on addressing public concerns and continuing ongoing reforms, particularly economic restructuring and subsidy rationalisation efforts.
Fahmi, who is also Pakatan Harapan communications director, said the coalition is nevertheless preparing for possible state elections, especially in Johor and Melaka.
e said the PH national convention on May 17 in Johor will serve as a key platform to outline strategic direction, election readiness, and seat negotiations.
The event, involving over 3,000 delegates, is expected to highlight government achievements while strengthening election machinery at both state and national levels.
