KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 – Former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has succeeded in stabilising Malaysia’s economy and improving investor confidence.
But argued that ordinary Malaysians have yet to feel the direct benefits. He pointed to strong economic indicators, including 5.3 per cent first-quarter growth.
And the ringgit’s performance against the US dollar, while noting that daily realities remain unchanged for many citizens.
Khairy said younger voters are more concerned about rising living costs, jobs, identity and economic mobility.
Recently readmitted into United Malays National Organisation, he said he remains connected to public sentiment through years of engagement and pledged to observe party discipline following his return.
