GEORGE TOWN, May 15 – The Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) has taken decisive action on four vacant kiosks at Robina Eco Park by terminating rental agreements in January 2026.
After tenants failed to operate their businesses. The units were re-advertised in April, with all four kiosks successfully reallocated by 27 April 2026.
Bringing full occupancy of all 33 kiosks. MBSP said continuous monitoring and stricter enforcement will ensure only active operators remain.
With possible relocation of underperforming units to higher-traffic areas. Separately, the Penang state government confirmed that the Community Service Order (PKM) for local authorities will be implemented on 1 July 2026.
Under the programme, offenders will perform supervised cleaning and maintenance work in public spaces such as markets, beaches and parks.
Authorities said extensive public awareness campaigns, SOP guidelines and digital outreach will be carried out to ensure smooth implementation and promote PKM as an educational alternative to fines.
