GEORGE TOWN, May 15 – Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Seri Steven Sim said the Cabinet has made no decision to reduce the Budi95 fuel subsidy.
Reaffirming the government’s current commitment to maintaining support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Responding to concerns and proposals raised by industry stakeholders, Sim stressed that he would continue representing the interests of entrepreneurs.
And maintain the position that Budi95 should remain in place for now. He also said improvements to diesel subsidy implementation would be pursued to better assist businesses relying on diesel-powered vehicles.
Speaking after the 2026 National Hawkers and Small Traders Advisory Council meeting, Sim highlighted broader initiatives to support entrepreneurs amid economic challenges.
The MSME allocation for 2026 has increased from RM50 billion to RM60 billion following an additional RM10 billion financing injection.
He also announced nationwide Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia town halls to gather grassroots feedback.
While measures such as UDA rental discounts, financing support, and reduced bureaucratic processes are expected to ease costs and strengthen the business ecosystem.
