KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 – Perikatan Nasional (PN) has appointed its chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, as Malaysia’s new Opposition Leader.
Following a Supreme Council meeting at Hotel Royale Chulan. The Kemaman MP and Terengganu Menteri Besar will replace Larut MP Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.
PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan also announced that the coalition had agreed in principle to explore electoral cooperation with parties sharing similar goals and interests ahead of future elections.
The meeting also discussed current national issues, reaffirming PN’s role as a constructive and principled check-and-balance coalition.
