JOHOR BAHRU, May 17 – Prime Minister and Anwar Ibrahim signalled a tougher political stance at the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Convention.
Declaring the coalition is prepared to contest all seats in several states if challenged by rivals. Anwar said PH was ready to field candidates across states including Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Penang and Pahang.
Stressing that if other coalitions choose confrontation, PH would respond in kind. “The drums have sounded, we declare war,” he said.
While warning against parties claiming credit for federal government initiatives. In his speech, Anwar also urged government-linked media to report facts accurately.
And cautioned political allies against continued pressure and “intimidation” within the Unity Government framework.
He hinted at the possibility of an early general election if tensions persist, saying the people could ultimately decide the nation’s direction.
Despite maintaining federal cooperation, Anwar stressed that every coalition has the right to determine its own electoral strategy as political momentum builds toward upcoming state elections and GE16.
