JOHOR BAHRU, May 17 — The Pakatan Harapan (PH) 2026 Convention gathered about 5,000 delegates and leaders nationwide under the theme “Tekad Madani, Harapan Rakyat”.

Focusing on strategies for upcoming state elections and the 16th General Election (GE16). Convention director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the gathering serves as a platform to formulate new approaches.

Assess the Madani Government’s progress and strengthen preparations for Johor and Melaka polls. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was scheduled to deliver the keynote.

Address outlining PH’s future direction and Unity Government cooperation. The convention also unfolded amid growing political tension in Johor.

After Johor PH announced plans to contest all 56 state seats following Barisan Nasional’s similar declaration. Johor PH chairman Aminolhuda Hassan said BN’s move effectively opened the path for direct contests.

While Johor PKR chief Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the coalition is prepared for possible three-cornered fights. PH leaders stressed readiness to face a more competitive political landscape ahead of the next state election.
