KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 — Former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli today announced that he and his political team have officially taken over Parti Bersama Malaysia (PBM).
Marking a significant shift in Malaysia’s political landscape. The announcement was made during a packed gathering at PJPAC, One Utama, attended by around 1,000 supporters.
With many unable to enter due to overwhelming turnout. Former Natural Resources and Environment Minister Nik Nazmi was also present.
With both leaders expected to chart a new political direction under the party. Parti Bersama Malaysia, also known as Malaysian United Party (Parti MU).
Was founded in 2016 and had previously operated mainly in Penang. Established by Tan Gin Theam and headquartered in Georgetown, the party is a relatively small political platform.
The move signals a fresh chapter for Rafizi following his departure from PKR leadership and is expected to reshape discussions on opposition politics and future political alignments ahead of the next general election.
