GEORGE TOWN, May 18 — Residents in parts of Penang and Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) are facing an unscheduled water supply disruption.
Following an unexpected pipe burst involving a suspected 54-inch main pipeline at Jalan Raja Uda. The incident, believed to have been caused by a third-party contractor.
Prompted immediate action from technical teams who are currently carrying out excavation and pumping works to assess the extent of the damage.
Consumers across most areas in SPU, except Penaga, Bertam Perdana and Kepala Batas, as well as end-of-line and high-ground neighbourhoods in Daerah Barat Daya (DBD).
May experience low water pressure or temporary supply interruptions. Repair works are expected to commence tomorrow afternoon.
Authorities have advised residents to conserve water and store sufficient supply for at least one day while efforts continue to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
